Qualify Accelerator

Qualify Accelerator

  • What is it?

The “Qualify Accelerator ” is a measure included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), aimed to encourage the return of adults to lifelong learning processes that contribute to the achievement of an educational or professional qualification.

The Recognition, Validation and Certification of Professional Competences (RVCC Profissional – Reconhecimento, Validação e Certificação de Competências Profissionais) is a process that allows obtaining a professional certification based on the demonstration of lifelong learning and skills acquired through professional experience or in other contexts.

The measure “Acelerador Qualifica” consists of the granting of financial support to adults who, through a process of Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences (RVCC – Reconhecimento, Validação e Certificação de Competências), complete a qualification that was incomplete or improve their educational or professional qualification.

The amount to be allocated to each adult corresponds to 1,25 of the Social Support Index (IAS – Indexante dos Apoios Sociais) value, which is updated annually during the period in which the measure is in force.

This incentive is aimed to value and encourage the effort of adults who, having left school without completing the 12th grade or a professional qualification, decide to resume their studies and invest in increasing their qualifications. Until now, the RVCC was the only modality of the National Qualifications System that did not have any associated financial support.

  • Who is entitled?
Adults who wish to increase their professional qualifications. In the case of candidates aged up to 23, it is mandatory that they have at least three years of professional experience duly proven in accordance with the law.
  • How to apply
The Recognition, Validation and Certification of Competences processes are developed at the Qualify Centres promoted by the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training, P.I. or other entities of the national network.
